Cheetah Walking Kuno Safari Track

Why Kuno

Why Visit Kuno?

If you've done a tiger reserve before, Kuno will surprise you. Instead of dense forest, you get open grasslands, rolling scrub and wide valleys — a landscape you can actually see across, which makes for a very different kind of safari.

Right now, it's the only place in India where you can see cheetahs back in the wild. But don't come only for the cheetahs. Leopards are regularly seen, and tigers occasionally pass through. If you enjoy birdlife, Kuno's 200+ bird species will keep you busy on their own.

How fast is a cheetah?

Cheetah vs lion, tiger, blackbuck, chital and Usain Bolt

The cheetah is the fastest land animal on Earth. Race Kuno's star against other animals over 100 metres, each running at its top speed the whole way.

Real sprints start from standing, so actual times are longer: Usain Bolt's world record is 9.58 s. Only the cheetah and Bolt figures are measured peaks; the rest are commonly quoted approximations.

A GPS-collar study of wild cheetahs measured a top speed of 93 km/h (25.9 m per second). More about the cheetah's speed
