Plan Your Trip

What to Expect

An honest look at a Kuno safari, before you book.

The vehicle

Safaris run in open safari jeeps operated within the park. Seats are limited per vehicle, and permits are issued per vehicle, so group size shapes how the booking is planned.

The guide

A forest guide accompanies every vehicle as part of park rules. Guides know the tracks, animal behaviour and where recent activity has been, so follow their advice on when to stop and stay quiet.

Sessions and timing

Safaris run as a morning and an evening session, and exact windows shift with the season. Mornings are cold from November to February, so pack layers. See our timings page for the seasonal windows.

Sightings: the honest picture

Kuno is wild, open country. Cheetahs are tracked and monitored, but that does not mean every drive produces one. Some drives are excellent, and some are quiet.

Herbivores such as chital, sambar, chinkara and nilgai are the most consistent sightings. Leopards, wolves, hyenas and sloth bears are rarer and take patience and luck.

We would rather set realistic expectations than promise a sighting. Staying more than one session improves your odds.

Rules that shape your day

Stay seated, keep noise low, never leave the vehicle inside the park, and follow the guide. Permit and ID requirements are covered in our permit guide.
